My mom has to teach my son. He does better under my mom's guidance. Mom wont stop teaching til my son truly gets the subject. But when he was at school, his teachers just breeze thru the syllabus quickly. Not many teachers are dedicated, especially if they do not have enough support from the admin.

Very important, parents need to talk to teachers, ultimately is our responsibility as parents to help our children to do better in life. With my child is a one to one at school is one teacher and 22 students. Teachers can not do miracle with such a large class.

Whatever the psychological effects of distance learning are, they are nothing compared to the psychological effects of classmates never returning because they are dead from a sickness the adults said was okay.

It's more than just child care for the parents and scheduling. Children are missing out on the social interaction with other children which is a huge part of their development and mental health. We have an only child who lives in a remote neighborhood with no other children around. Remote learning is isolating our kids, and COVID is worth the risk to send them back to school.

THIS IS HELL, I HAVEN'T TALKED TO A KID MY AGE IN A YEAR. MY PARENTS DON'T LET ME GO ON SOCIAL MEDIA, AND MY GOVERNOR WON'T LET ME OUT OF MY HOUSE. I went in to the pandemic with 4.0 GPA, lots of friends, great health, with 2 loving parents, and a decent family income. Now I'm failing half of my classes, have 0 friends, I'm obese, my parents are divorced, both my parents were fired, my older sister began drugs, my younger sister is depressed, I got addicted to porn, and we are dirt poor. PLEASE STOP PLAYING GAMES WITH PEOPLES LIVES.

I agree, distance learning is just plain HORRIBLE! At my school, as a student, no one ever turns on their cameras and students type into the chat box, but do not speak. I am in 11th grade now, and I look forward to going back to school so that I can pull my grades back up to all As.

Less than a year a go they called this "Home Schooling. " Many people opted to do this before the current situation. Now it is called " Distant Learning." What is the difference. In the past Home Schooling was touted as a very good option, and many considered it a very good option for students. Now that it is mandatory, all of these so call experts are worried and have a problem with it. Very strange.

high income kids are doing better cause one parent has to stay home or if that’s the only parent they are screwed
