That's actually better than most light up cases because most of the time you need to plug it into the charging cable making you unable to charge when it's lit up.

NFC Charging. That's how it works. It's the new wireless charging energy.
Once Android 15 comes out we'll get nfc charging support on supported devices.

I remember in the 90's and early 2000's we had stickers on our phones that lit up during a call, this is basically the same thing but just a little bit more advanced. There was also light up antennas on phones where you could unscrew it.

Reverse wireless charging isn't actually being used to power it. Older cases similar to this that involve any kind of power, such as the led view for the note and s series. The power is drawn from the phone, but it hardly affects battery. (The NFC chip is what is powering it)

Flip phones back in the early 2000s had this stuff. I miss when you could customize your phone

It is drawing power from the nfc reader. It's somewhat the same as wireless charging, but it is a different component and on a different frequency.

The nfc tag needs to get its power from somewhere and it gets it from the reader. With some clever trickery it gets enough power to light a few leds and switch them really really fast.
