Two years using my Poco F3 and it still functions perfectly. I still think that the F3 has been beaten in its competition, but that's only because tech develops so fast

F5 feels more aligned with the Poco's gaming focus. Faster 67W charging, a headphone jack, and most importantly the plastic back.
Their decision to use plastic instead of glass for the back is a smart move. You feel more heat on hands with a glass-backed device and it also weighed more.

Gamers would appreciate these features.

The F3 being 2 years old and still keeping up is incredible. 😮 They made a good phone that year. Wow.

I've been using my Poco F3 for 2 years and its a mega impressive phone that I don't wish to upgrade anytime soon. The battery is still at 90% capacity because Ive not been charging it to 100% but keeping it below 80%. I can still get a full days usage with no problem, fantastic phone with a great processor.

F3 is holding up really well and is still better than most mid range phones

Loved this comparison.

Things I loved about F5, bigger battery, newer processor, OIS (finally) on midrange.

Things I really really hate about it, Why did they make the front camera to the old design it looks so big and ugly compared to the F3's ones. Just look at 3:02
And the most stupid thing that Poco did on F5 was removing all the software camera modes and only make them available on the F5 pro. (Tracking moving object/AI Camera//etc)
Moving from glass to plastic is subjectively but the glass on Poco F3 definitely makes the phone feel more premium.
The battery life is abit of let down despite being almost 500mah more but doesn't really reflect the increase from F3 but managing to keep the weight down is a kudos to them.

For people who getting new phone F5 is definitely its a good phone to get. But for F3 and even to F2 users, probably just better with keeping the current one and wait for the next.

From POCO F1 to F3 user here. I still like F3 than F5 due to the aesthetics and F3 still smooth sailing with smaller front cam.

I came from an S21 ultra and I'm absolutely stunned with the POCO F5 as my daily driver, not a cellphone cam guy because I own a bunch of full frame bodies and lenses. It has a crappy camera with an annoying brownish tint but everything else is just blazingly top notch..for a $380 phone, it is a KILLER

I will continue to use my F3, because it is enough for my daily usage. Maybe in 2 years Poco will make a significant upgrade.

Hi, not sure if my comment will be read or even replied duirng this stage.
I bought the Poco F5 Blue 12GB 256GB variant after doing much research for a month. Bought it during 11.11 during a flash sale for about the equivalent of USD 300. The funny thing was I upgraded from the previous Poco flagship the F3 which I had for 2 years and unfortunately I lost it last month during a train ride. But oh well.. I was also previously a Poco F1 user which I had for 4 years. So I can safely say that I am a Poco user veteran having used all the odd numbered Pocos. LOL

I was seriously contemplating this phone with the Nothing 1 phone as I am a huge fan of Carl Pei's take of Android and his Oneplus legacy. The Nothing 1 phone is just one of a kind. But in the end the flash sale of the Poco F5 gets the vote from my wallet.

So far this phone has been very smooth and a joy to use. I am used to MIUI so the interface familiarity is there. The SD 7 Gen 2 really feels fast and snappy for anything thrown at it. I have disabled all the ads from MIUI so now the phone is totally ads free, which get rid of 1 sore point of MIUI. I don't game on my phone so the gaming performance of the phone isn't that relevant to me.

What surprised me was the comeback of the 3.5mm jack! Great to reuse my corded earphones left lying in my cabinet after I switched to the F3 from F1.

Just that from the F3 there were some downgrades at least on paper, like the 360hz to 240hz touch sampling rate, and apparently the camera sensors are using Omnivision sensors instead of Sony sensors. But it doesn't feel like a downgrade in real world experience.

I am not sure if GCAM at this point is an improvement to the stock camera. Can you advise if this is so? And which build should I use?

I also missed the ''Clear Speaker'' feature of the F3. I am not sure why Poco didn't retain this feature to help clear dust from the dual speakers.

My humble feedback :)

For me, one of the F3 users yes there's a lot of changes when upgrading to F5. But it's all depends on the user. As for me my F3 still handles the games that i play like CODM, ML. And no problem running the other apps I don't want to upgrade yet. As long the SD 870 still manage to handle all the apps that I'm using there's no a reason for me to upgrade. In terms of camera yes the camera of the F3 is the weak spot but it can solve the problem by using gcam. Battery is good enough I've never encountered battery draining issue 😊

If you come from an Poco F1 or F2 pro i think this is a great upgrade. But i feel that it is a minor upgrade in terms of day to day experience from the Poco F3.

Since the F3 is still being updated in 2023 and is still powerful enough to handle everything you throw at it i will wait for the next generation of the F series. Outside of just wanting a new device, there is no real reason to upgrade.

But if i had to choose now i would probably go for the F5 pro because of the QHD display and wireless charging which is actually an upgraded phone experience.

Anyway thanks for the Review Adam Lobo🙏. This was the review i was waiting for since the release!😁👍
