I ended up going to the doctor and they said I got pretty lucky and just needed to take it easy for a couple of weeks. I then proceeded to get a cold. All is currently well! Will be planning a big Fall trip next year to make up for this one! And hopefully be riding in a the S.S. Good Times 2.0.

I just finished watching this heart wrenching video.
I just got to the part
2:20 where you said you felt bad for us because we're not getting the full trip you'd planned. It was lovely of you to say that. It was incredibly kind & generous of you to be thinking about your viewer family when you were in such pain, that was a lovely thing to say, but for sure, every single one of us will have been saying, "Get the Ibuprofen & get home to rest, don't worry about the video".
It's terrible to see you in pain.
Thank you for continuing to chat to us & film when you were in such pain, that must have taken some doing.
Then what do you end up doing a week after
sitting getting uncomfortable & sore ( I was going to say "getting Stiff" but for some reason that sounds wrong 🤔😉😀) whilst spending hours & hours & hours editing & producing your masterpiece of the 5 year Anniversary video.

As a human who experiences back pain every single day I can appreciate your wanting to get back to homebase for some R&R. Mother Nature had it in for you on this trip, hopefully she will give you the weather you want the rest of the Fall and Winter seasons. Monty is happy no matter what happens as long as he is with his Matthew, well maybe not the getting dunked that one time. I hope you have healed up well and am looking forward to the next installment of Adventures with Monty and Matthew. Peace Out.

The older you are, the harder you fall! I hope you are ok Matt. I tripped on a blackberry vine one day and fell downhill head first out in the woods alone. The vines had a hold around my ankles and I couldn't move my feet. The hill was steep. I had to pull my body up the hill with little trees and salmonberry bushes enough to reach the vines around my ankles to cut them with a pocket knife. Then I had to wiggle my feet to the downhill side so I could climb out. It seems like such a simple thing that shouldn't be a big deal. I have been falling down since I was a little kid. I know how, and I know how to get up, but this was different, I was seriously stuck. At first I almost paniced. Then I remembered, panic is what gets people killed. I accepted the position I was in before I even tried to free myself. I took it slow and thoughtfully and the next thing I knew I was climbing back up to the road. I sat there for a few minutes, checked my arms, legs, head and body for broken parts, thanked my guardian angels and moved quietly on with my day. Keep in mind your age and relative safety. Kids bounce, us, not so much anymore.

Hope you and the SS are all fixed up better soon! You made the right choice. Sometimes the odds just stack against us but you handled all the pretty well (unless you cut out the bits with all the tears!?) Monty just loves being along with you and chilling in the boat.🥰So do we.
