If God created the cosmos, what created God? It would not make sense for anything to have created God, because then that 'anything', not God, would be God. So, if God can neither be created nor create itself, then the only option remaining, it seems, would be that God must be self-existing.

God is Existence itself. (Exodus 3:14) Existence/The Embodiment of Being needs to be Self-Existent (Eternal) or absolutely nothing would be. Think about it.

The answer should be - God made time and space for his creations. He is not bound by them. He is beyond time and space. There is NO time when he first exist. Neither there is a place (space) where he first exist. There is no time and place in God. Thus, He is eternal (not bound of time) and omnipresent (not bound by space). God is always there.

If we consider the concept of God in eternity without external cause as being the original standard of "normal, " then we are all the anomaly, not God. So rather than judge God's existence from our own conditions, realize that God self-existing was all that there was at one point, and we and our conditions are the variation to that rule of life, and not the rule itself.

Self of every living thing is God.
Mind arises from Self but, misleads us to believe that we are the body.

This self-existing, inerrant, 'perfect' God sits by while children die by the thousands everyday in abject poverty, war and famine. A God with an ability to be self-sustaining and 'eternal' cannot bother to prevent the innocent from suffering? IT seems to me to be the case that if one demonstrates the likelihood that God is not omnipotent, then much less of a case can be made that he possesses the most powerful attributes of all: to be eternal, un-caused and self-existent.

A similar idea is that God should be self-sufficient. He should have not need for anything. But if he has no need for anything, then he would not have create the world and its inhabitants since such a creation would contradict the attribute that God is self-suffcient. Since the world and its inhabitants exist, it would imply that God is non-existent, or if he is existent, he could not be self-sufficient, of if he is existent and self-sufficient, he would be irrational and therefore not worthy of being called God.

I could be mistaken, I think Dr. Kuhn is an atheist? I believe the point of these discussions are to listen to interesting perspectives on God, the universe, It always makes me laugh when people comment from some authority. As if "they" are the all knowing. News flash, nobody knows! To try to discredit an idea that is at its core, unknowable, and at least backed by some strand of logic, based on certain presuppositions, is funny to me. At least Dr. Kuhn is exploring these ideas with a somewhat open mind. Be it God or Science, or even philosophy, there are a lot of bad theories and practices. Lets not put it all on one world view or another. That's just dishonest.
