In this sermon, Pastor Dale Partridge of King's Way Church delves into Romans chapter 9, emphasizing God's sovereignty in salvation. He illustrates that understanding Calvinism often stems from deeply studying this chapter rather than external influences. Pastor Dale highlights Paul's sorrow for the unconverted Jews despite their covenantal advantages and asserts that salvation requires the Holy Spirit's transformation, not merely information. He explains that even perfect teachings and miracles cannot convert without God's intervention. Addressing the question of why many Jews rejected the Messiah, Pastor Dale clarifies that true Israel comprises those chosen by God, affirming that God's word has not failed.

I love when you said “you’ll never grasp the trinity”. I recently was made alive through Christ. I know the trinity to be true, but I have been trying so hard to comprehend it. By you saying this, it took the load off. The whole video was incredible. Thank you!

I can't listen to very many pastors these days. You did pretty well.

Great sermon!!

The 'predestination' is because of the 'promise' - of blessings and curses. But the choice to choose is still each His own. I make the choice... but it is the Lord that applies the pressures that would cause me to choose. And no mystery why those who show up wanting to have a relationship with Him are 'broken'.

As for your unsolved mysteries? Give me a shot at that... Isaiah 52:15 has been fulfilled.

6:38 “Why had the Jews rejected the Messiah? That’s the glaring question.”

Actually, the glaring question the unbelieving Jews had was more like “why in the world would God he letting the Gentiles into the kingdom?” Getting the question in mind correctly is tantamount to getting the right understanding of this passage.

10:47 “Millions have asked if it is just for God to love one and not another?” No, it’s not just. And thankfully that’s not what he does!

2:04 What sermon series was that? We should probably get it fixed.

I would add that God knows what we are going to do BEFORE we do it. This is why Nathan (a gentile prophet? Guiding the King if Israel?) said, "You have already been forgiven."

2:20 “Romans 9 is where…the idea of free will goes to die.”

Not if it’s understood correctly.

8:34 Paul isn’t offering the OT stories to support the idea that God elects some and not others, he’s presenting those stories to prove that if God really did elect some AND CAST OUT THE OTHERS, then it would be the Jews that were cast out. He’s reversing the roles in each of the OT stories in chapter 9. All of them. Moses and Pharaoh, Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Ishmael, Jacob and Esau. When he says Jacob I loved but Esau I hated, you need to be asking who is Jacob? And who is Esau? If you’re not asking these questions you’re not going to understand the chapter.

11:28 “the anticipated response…” No it doesn’t. Paul is telling the unbelieving Jews that God CAN have mercy on the Gentiles, something they did not believe. That’s why they objected so strenuously to Paul. If Paul was teaching what you suggest, that Hid only chooses some people, they wouldn’t even object to that. They already believed that. They believed the chosen ones were them! The only reason why they object is because Paul is NOT teaching Calvinism.

God is NOT pleased with obsession with calvin or arminism . Leave man out. God is absolutely sovereign and HE MUST choose to save--- we are dead and God MUST choose. Don't be obsessed with calvin. Lat God be true

God has ALREADY decided... in accordance to His word... as in, "the Lord has (already) spoken. There are conditions for election. The conditions are already set - but the choice of which way it goes is to each his own, or else Joshua could not have said, "choose this day."

That verse 9:15 is not quoted correctly and makes it appear as if God can do ANYTHING He wants... which could not be farther from the truth. God has a stricter set of rules than we do.

The verse should say I will have mercy on whom I WILL have mercy.

So as to say that if it is a persons WILL and their 'will' is God's 'will'... then that person will show mercy, and thus will also be shown much mercy.

Jacob was a wreck, and even helped by his mother (uh oh a woman!) to deceive her own husband and so on.

The reason Jacob is renamed is because he refused to 'give up' unless all of his 'troubles' could become a 'blessing'. This is why the battle goes all night and MUST end before the 'new day'. Jacob being save OUT OF his trouble DOES NOT mean saved 'from' his trouble. And right now? Israel is in BIG BIG trouble. 😔
