What I want to know is, what brainless parents would allow their 14 year old kids to take a dinky 19 foot Non-Ocean Water boat, meant for small bodies of water ONLY, with only one outboard motor, out into the open ocean???
You know reckless, with zero impulse control, with a "Need For Speed" young boys can be... You only need to watch them on a jet ski or a dirt bike to realize what a big mistake that was... If they were "working on the engine" means they probably were doing something stupid, like going way too fast, and/or jumping waves, and it got the motor swamped...
And, why didn't they have a personal gps locator device on the boat?? Were they too far out to call for help, or send an SMS message (that's sent by satellite)??
