Drawing Batou & Tachikoma - Ghost in the Shell Pixel Art & Philosophy
Показать описание
In this video, I share how I used MS Paint to draw Batou and Tachikoma from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex or GITS:SAC. This is by far my favorite anime and manga series of all time. It's beautifully crafted and rich in deep hidden meanings. Every time I watch the show, I discover something new.
With Netflix bringing GITS:SAC back for two 12 episode seasons starting in April 2020 with the launch of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2045, I thought this would be a great chance to share my live for Ghost in the Shell, talk a little bit about the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex anime series and the story behind it, and preview the upcoming Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2045.
If you are interested, you can find and purchase my prints, comics, and other merchandise at:
As you may have noticed, I drew this mostly in the Windows XP version of Microsoft Paint. However, at the end, I adjusted a few colors and added some glow effects to the candles in Photoshop. Let me know what you think of this in the comments below.
Also, I'm thinking about coming back and doing another Ghost in the Shell fan art piece. What character would you most like to see me draw? Or what philosophical idea presented by Ghost in the Shell would you most like to see conceptualized in an art piece? This doesn't have to be from the Stand Alone Complex series, either. I'm open to drawing something from the movies, the Arise series, or the manga. Anything Ghost in the Shell goes!
The video also makes reference to the anime series 'Initial D' and 'Eden of the East.' These are two very different types of stories. Eden of the East is more of a mystery adventure series. Initial D is an action packed racing series; which is made memorable by the strong feelings its story and characters elicit more than the quality of animation; which looks like it was pulled directly from the manga.
At some point, I have to do a video talking about my yet-to-fail rules about what makes a good anime series.
