Music by Ludwig Ronquist – Thema: "Personas"

The footage is from the high ridge (Hohnekamm) in noth Germany. It was minus 12 degrees. We fought with warhammer and poleaxe. For savety reasons we use rubber heads on both weapons. The next hospital was a 5 hour walk and 30 minutes of driving away. My armor is made of titanium and hardened steel corresponds to models from 1485, my friend Niklas uses armour and armament from the 16th century and a gothic sallet.
At the end of the fight I nearly died there. The helmet was filled with snow and I couldn't breath or cry. My friend Niklas noticed that I fought different at the end and let me go. With the last of my strength I managed to take off my helmet and breath again!

Niklas instagram is amazing, risk a look!

this makes you realise how terrifying it must have been for knights to get stuck in mud. the second you fall face-first into the mud it might be over

Just imagine a world where movies appreciate realism. They don't realize nothing is cooler than adhering to what works in martial settings. And these armours are sick as hell.

Well, this is a beautiful thing that you do because you discover these problems that can occur in harness that modern historians would otherwise never know about. That said, I am glad you didn’t suffocate from the snow in your helmet.

Man, this is a one of a thousand kind of video you won't find anywhere else. The fact that you guys went to this length and got such literally fantastical footage is insane to me.

To both of you guys health and future battles!

The ambience, the feeling, the movements, looks rought but there's thought in it and knowledge, I love this kind of combat and videos.

This interaction really highlights how useful bucklers are for parrying blows. The use was masterful and entertaining. Glad you didn't die. Would have been a sucky way to go.

Knew someone who had something similar happen. During a HMB fight they faceplanted into the sand tourney floor, smothering the breaths in their helmet. Already being winded he wasn't able to move and ended up blacking out. They ended up going to hospital afterwards to make sure he didn't suffer any brain damage.

Absolut atemberaubend, ich wünschte ich würde sowas regelmäßiger erleben dürfen, aber allein zuzuschauen oder allein nur zuzuhören ist sogleich faszinierend als auch beruhigend. Mein größten Lob an alle Beteiligten!

Really appreciate the attention to aesthetics in your videos. I haven't seen anyone else choose a location or frame shots as well as your channel, definitely a fan! Often videos of HEMA/WMA are filmed at busy festivals, in a community centre or the like (which is understandable) but I hope more people follow your example.

I used to attend lessons of Historical European Martial Arts when I lived in Scotland during my bachelor. This video is such a rare gem and brings back the great memories 😊

I'm exited to bits when I see a video from you! The dedication to do this is really the evidence of passion towards armored combat. I wanted to say thank you for these amazing videos.
Also, it would be neat to see a guide to polearms, warhammers and morningstars.

The way that the tinnitus kicks in, the loss of the music, you can see the panic. It genuinely made my heart rate skyrocket like I was stuck there, like I couldn't breath. I could imagine myself trying to save myself while already weak from fighting. We're so grateful you lived that man. I have sleep paralysis so sometimes I have times where it's like i'm so fatigued I can barely move an inch but yet I can't breathe and I need to do something about it but my body just won't move.

This is so insanely good I legitimately thought a minute in, "lol am I allowed to watch this?".
You guys have captured a level of grit and immersion here that's genuinely hard to find basically anywhere else.

Ich find das ende Episch ohne Musik, hat mich an die Folge Hartheim aus GoT erinnert.
Habt ihr schön gemacht.
