We have the previous model year of this car and it has been fantastic. Same 1.2L turbo engine but honestly, don't be deterred by the small size as it compares to a naturally aspirated 2.0L but because it's turbo, the torque spread is much better so it pulls from down low on the rev range. I agree that take off from standstill takes some getting used to - it's a combination of the dual clutch transmission and turbo lag, but you can find the right amount of throttle to apply and it gets better when you know the car. We've had our Megane wagon nearly two years now and it's been virtually faultless. Stylish, spacious and nice to drive as well as packed with features.

I wonder if the Renault "Press Kit" mentioned that the seats are Alcantara Upholstery, not fabric / suede as you mention... The "lurchy" gearbox is probably down to the fact it is a Dual Clutch EDC Auto Gearbox. The Megane GT would give extra performance over the GT-Line. These make a valid alternative to the SUV...
