I have interacted with russian colleagues at work and they seem like very content people. They may not be the strongest economy, but tgey surely are happy people, much happier than US as matter of fact. Russia is a good country for retirement. Its safe, secure and most importantly stable. As long as Russians stay nationalists, no one can harm their country. Economy wise Russia has large natural resources and most importantly oil. They will easily sustain with good management.

Humanization of Russia as a Mother evolved from the pre-Christian era, when the pagans of Ancient Rus' worshiped "Mother Earth" (english translation is not accurate though, it's more like "Our-Mother-Raw-Soil", basically personification of the soil itself with godly features), don't mess it with Makosh though, the goddess of women's handicrafts, fertility and harvests. And the father is Perun, the god of the sky, thunderstorms and lightning. Sounds familiar? Yeah, these are Vedic Gods. Parjaniya - god of rain and thunder, and Mokosh is traced to Mahimata, great mother. Mokosh is also Freya in Norse Pantheon. As well as Odin = Perun. Mother-Raw-Soil in Russian sounds like Mat' Syra Zemlya. Baltic tribes called it Zemes Mate, sounds alike. Vedic origin is probably Prithvi. Word Zemlya originates from sanskrit word kṣám. With baptism among the eastern and southern Slavs, the cult of Mat' Syra Zemlya is completely transferred to the Virgin Mary (I’m not sure about the Western Slavs, I’m not a Catholic), and they usually call her not by name, they call her Bogoroditsa (which is wrongly translated as Mother of God, no, correct translation would be "she, who gives birth from God", there is a difference), continuing the slavic cult of sacred motherhood. Bogoroditsa is venerated in Russia probably even more than Jesus himself, honestly, the most valued orthodox icon in Russia is Virgin of Vladimir dated by XII century. So, Mother Russia is associated with Virgin Mary or Bogoroditsa, who has features of Mat' Syra Zemlya, who is also Vedic goddess Prithvi. Btw, fun fact, according to Orthodox faith Mary is not a literal virgin, like many cathlolics say (LOL), it's her spiritual virginity and yeah, St. Joseph and St. Mary did have sex, sorry to all the catholics.

It's not their Slavic culture that makes them undemocratic. That point ignores Slavic democracies in Eastern Europe.
