The game between fifteenth ranked Virginia Tech and West Virginia had a wild ending as Virginia Tech nearly pulled of a stunning comeback in the final minutes. With 3 minutes remaining, Virginia Tech cut the West Virginia lead to 27-21. Then on the ensuing possession, Virginia Tech intercepted a pass and put themselves in prime position to take the lead. But West Virginia came up with a goal line stand and held on for a 27-21 upset win over Virginia Tech.
