The world needs more videos like yours. Straight to the point. Comprehensive and concise. Covered everything quickly and left no question to ask. The video is well made to the point I've to leave a comment.
I've encountered nothing but junk videos throughout my search for a simple 1 wire docking or conference monitor solution. Believe it or not, there isn't any review demonstrating the number of steps a user has to make to switch between onboard and external cameras, speakers, and mic. No profile solutions for un/docking so to speak.

The problem with "buy a thunderbolt 4 cable to be safe" is that any thunderbolt cable over about 1 meter will usually be an "active" cable. This actually makes them incompatible with certain signal types like USB 10gbps, displayport and particularly high wattage charging. The only truly universal cables are passive thunderbolt 40gbps cables, which are typically limited to 0.5 meters for Thunderbolt 3, and I believe around 1 meter for Thunderbolt 4

So can I plug a thunderbolt 4 hub into a usb-c extension cable which is plugged into my thunderbolt 4 port on my laptop and not lose any functionality? Or will the usb-c extension cable limit everything?
