How to reshape the crown on a felt hat

Here is a way that you can change the crease on you hat. Or even if you need to straighten up the crease in your crown.

I did that to two Serratelli hats, one black and one granite. The black I reshaped some years ago, and the granite just three years ago. They both had the cattleman crease, and I'm not a fan of that shape. So, I steamed them, push the dents up and put in the teardrop/pinch telescope crease into the crowns. I prefer that crease, and I like the brick and square tops

Now, in the case of the granite hat, I had to have it special ordered because my local western wear store did not have what I needed in stock. I requested the hat to come in a brick crease, but it came with the cattleman. So, some time after I paid off the hat in full, I reshaped it and switched from the self-buckle band to a dark brown tooled leather band
