This guy's playing give me goosebumps. Huge riffs, brutal solos, kickass licks, amazing choirs. My god this band was astonishing.

These guys had such a great & unique sound, no one could match them at the time, or since.

Scott has always been one of my favorite gutarists. So many memories of my youth riding around on hot summer nights with the windows down, flying high listening to Lizzy with good friends.

My Mates and I used to see Thin Lizzy back in the day mid 70s and then they were huge in the 80s..Morans Hotel was a great Haunt that they used to Show up at unannounced and just get up and join the Band that we're playing ...The Marvelous Smiley Bolger ran that great Basement Venue.. Dublin City Ireland ..Fantastic Memories

I can only imagine that news like they experienced was always possible. There was no shortage of tragic news in 'long before their time' lifestyle. And then even first family members too. But the music was also very attractive and therapy.

Some bands keep going even they don't have all original members still in which is great, some can't because they've died 😢 and some don't want to for what ever reason...

This guy influenced my guitar playing and songwriting probably more than most.

Fun game indeed: How many bands can you name that have all the original members in it? I can only think of one. Rammstein and they’ve been at it for 30 years so they must count although we do need a rule stipulating how old the band must be in order to count. I wonder if Led Zeppelin would count - John Bonahm died but his son is now playing the drums.

Idk..about the band thing carrying on after losing a member, its different with the lead singer especially one that's that on the level of Phil lynott..thats like the Doors carrying on without Jim Morrison! Sure your gonna play the songs but its never gonna be the same.

He's speaking from a business point of view, rather than an emotional point of view unfortunately.

It pisses me off when music snobs say "well, that's basically a cover band because so and so have left the band". BS. Look at the original Fleetwood Mac, how many lasted until their huge day? Bands like Aerosmith, Beatles, etc are VERY rare just like Scott says. Look at ANY iconic group and they have changed over the years. Rolling Stones, Metallica, Van Halen and on an on. The fact that that happens doesn't make them less.
