Samsung is under no obligation to llicense others to provide large amounts of replacement screens for their products. Moreover, they are not obliged to allow others to ignore their patents and had work done to become possibly the best screen builder in the world. We have great technology because they didn't accept the status quo and wait for someone else to invest... they did it.

Samsung is under no obligation, legal or moral, to support your business model, or to allow others to import cheap knockoffs so that you can do so.

Those "AMAs" should be hosted on independent subreddits (something like r/smartphones or similar), where they can't just delete any response that easily. What's the point of it when you just answer questions that fit into your 4 pre-written answers and not just ignore, but purposefully purge anything else.

These companies are so hostile to repair because their innovation has stalled, and repair is a huge threat to them selling new devices to people every 12-24 months. As long as someone's current phone continues to work, there's no reason to upgrade. In fact, a newer phone might be a downgrade if a feature you use is gone (headphone jack, MicroSD). So, replacing broken devices with new ones will become an increasingly large part of their sales strategy.

Companies like Apple and Samsung will only get more hostile towards repair as it becomes increasingly difficult for them to sell people a $1000+ phone every year or two.

I don't have any answers, but the fight won't be getting easier.

You have to remember that Lew is a marketer. His job is to market and advertise the brands that "pay" him through access and free products. Basically he is a shill. So there is no way in hell he is going to be honest about anything unsavory Samsung has been doing.

He is NOT a real reviewer, nor is he a tech guru. If anything he actually seems to know rather little about tech. And from what I've seen he can be quite clueless about anything that's not mainstream yet.

It's physically impossible to start a repair shop nowadays. It got popularised to the point where anyone attempting to get in required very bespoke services, and anything mainstream is locked down, making it harder than ever to get started. It's actually a shame as it looks as though more people than ever want a piece of it
