Sarah always saw herself as one of the boys. She was a band leader. 🤓❤️❤️❤️

I have heard this song performed literally hundreds of times by many many artists! I have NEVER heard it sung like this! At 77 years of age I have been and still am a hugely devoted fan of Sarah Vaughan! I was blessed to be able to see her one time in a sold out concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Just a few months before she left us. She will overspell over that audience that none of us will ever forget. Now hearing this, I found myself at the end of it with tears rolling down my face at this year magnificence of this gift being given to me once again by the incomparable, The Divine Miss Sarah Vaughan!

Glorious singing! Gorgeous voice!
Summer, indeed. I've never seen her sweat as much as she is sweating here. I"m sure that wig wasn't helping but man, SHE
TruthSerum
Her accompanists are lucky they have a job with Sarah coz with a voice like that she doesn't need any. Her voice alone could fill the entire auditorium.

Any idea where I can find the full show WITH sound?

Sarah uses a lot of energy when she sings. As a result, she sweats.

One of these mornings
You're goin' to rise up singing
Then you'll spread your wings
And you'll take the sky
But till that morning
There's a nothin' can harm you
With daddy and mammy standin' by
Sorry, but all I can think is that that's another way of saying "You're eventually going to die. But don't worry about that now.".
Hopefully someone told the baby that daddy and mammy are going to take the sky first.
Although, since this was 1949, I'm pretty sure all three (at least daddy and mammy) are pretty close to taking the sky, if they haven't already.
