𝙎𝙈𝘼𝙍𝙏+𝙁𝙐𝙉 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 - EARTHQUAKES Poster COMING SOON
Perfect for classrooms and home study rooms. You'll look at it and laugh, and then remember what it says.
We think of the Earth as SOLID, right? Solid as a rock! Except sometimes, the Earth shakes and rumbles under our feet. EARTHQUAKES happen when tectonic plates move against each other. You can picture tectonic plates like gigantic puzzle pieces that make up all of the Earth's crust.
In this video we'll talk about some of the causes of Earthquakes, and how scientists study them using special tools like seismographs. We'll learn how to describe the size of earthquakes using the Richter scale and the moment magnitude scale. And finally, we'll talk about the ways architects design buildings to keep us safe (and steps we can take to keep ourselves safe) in the event of an earthquake.
