make your colors 2 shades lighter when mixing acrylic for a painting, it will save you annoyance later. for watercolor, test your palette on scrap paper before hand so you know how much they lighten/darken as they dry-- then allow for 2-3 shades difference when mixing for a piece. additionally, making thumbnails to test color schemes takes no time and takes out stress with water color.

Tbh my fave part of art is the middle ugly stages.
It’s so earnest and so weird but it’s so cool to look at the blank canvas turn into something before my very eyes.
Trusting the process is a huge part of art for me, just knowing my abilities can rescue even my most questionable work.

I feel like the teapot is the standout in this painting. I write like the entire thing but that teapot is just so well done. Amazing work and great message.
