Join Dr. Brian Thomas as he embarks on an awe-inspiring adventure through the breathtaking landscapes of Zion National Park. In this episode, he discusses the formation of Checkerboard Mesa. Uniformitarians claim that this crossbedded ancient dune formed over many eras, but when you look at the evidence, it's clear that this incredible feature formed rapidly!

Bringing truth back to science! Thank you.

Awesome seeing the bible come alive right before our eyes.

Very well done. It amazes me that so many scientists refuse to see the evidence of the flood but, as the old saying goes, there are none so blind as those who will not see.

I just finished going through the arches and Bryce Canyon
Love the video
And all the other videos
Can you explain how the hoodoos formed in Bryce Canyon

Is concise explanation of a geologic feature is very helpful. Thank you.

I guess I never had a picture in my head for ‘checkerboard mesa’. It all makes sense now. Is it the erosion from rain and wind that leads to the side of the mesa looking like a checkerboard?

When I went through Zion one month ago, the Ranger talked about how these sand grains have been shown to have come from erosion of the Appalachian mountains and have been deposited at this location 'somehow.' I think we figured it out.

In my opinion this is another powerful part of the story to add to the underwater, fast deposition that the geology demonstrates. These layers were layer down 1. quickly 2. by water 3. from across the continent. What other explanation is plausible but a catastrophic flood beyond what we witness today?

Amen ICR 🙂🙏 God bless you! Praying for you. Don't worry about the naysayers and haters. We can pray for them and hope for their salvation

Yes, yes, I walked up a street where there were no dogs and it clearly proved dogs don't exist. (There are some who say I am wrong.)

How is there intermittent globally devastating volcanic and meteoric layers across the world, with combinations of sedimentary layers in between (including their different orientations and erosion before new layers etc) since or during Noah’s flood??? These layers only containing “kinds” of life (including as small and buoyant as spores and pollens) only in certain earlier layers. Also confirmed in ice layers counting far older than biblical creation with same volcanic ash, spores, pollens etc

Just a complete misinterpretation of geology - honestly, one has to wonder if Dr Thomas is being knowingly obtuse or is just vastly under qualified.

The angle of repose, in this instance the 17 to 21 degrees of the crossbeds, is widely found in desert environments due to wind processes. Crossbedding angles can vary based on numerous factors, including wind speed and sediment supply. The Navajo Sandstone, which includes Checkerboard Mesa, is widely recognized by geologists as ancient desert dune deposits. The large-scale crossbedding, which is a characteristic feature, forms from wind-blown sand dunes in a desert environment. Research from sources such as the U.S. Geological Survey supports this conclusion through sedimentological and stratigraphic analyses.

Flume studies are controlled experiments that simulate sediment transport in water. While useful, their results are not directly comparable to large-scale natural processes over geological time. The simplification and misapplication of flume study results to support the flood model is misleading. The claim that these layers were deposited rapidly during a single flood year contradicts extensive evidence from radiometric dating, fossil records, and stratigraphy.

The claim that the crossbedded sandstones at Checkerboard Mesa in Zion National Park were deposited underwater during the Biblical flood of Noah is wishful thinking at best.

What absolute nonsense. The evidence that these are dune sand formations is pretty conclusive but what really blows this nonsense out of the water is that the sandstone is capped by water deposited limestone, which takes many hundreds if not thousands of years to precipitate out of the water - it's a slow forming hard cap.

Even a busted clock shows the correct time twice a day. "Doctor" Brian exhibits almost perfect "Six Blind Indian Fakirs Describing an Elephant to the Rajah" thinking. He holds the tail, insists an elephant was "very like a rope". Zion is relatively young, but God was not the architect. A Big Dumb Rock was, and their could easily be another one in our future. Not because "God" threw it at us, but because the Universe is a very violent place! Jesus told you this, in the other half of Mark 12:17 "Render unto God, the things that are God's". The things that are God's are "not of this world", He also said.

Yes, it got it right. But it absolutely did not happen 4, 400 years ago. The latest the flood occurred was 3, 300BC. 1, 000 years before what many of you are purporting. The earliest Egyptian dynasty was already existing by 3, 100BC. Nimrod and his meddling was years before that, probably 50-100 years prior; the flood occurred around 3, 300BC.
