Re: Tuesday voting. What about the story that a weekday was chosen so that rural voters could reach the voting stations via horse carriage after one day of traveling and they didn't have to start or end their voyage on a Sunday? Just a myth?
Of course, nowadays this arrangement severely disadvantages working people. So if you want to keep the Tuesdays make if a national holiday!
