At first when I saw the title of this video I thought it was going to be something more along the lines of us capturing asteroids for mining materials and resources. Not just to collect a tiny piece of it for study... A good idea but a bit of a let down in my view..

Anyone think a mission to Mars is just stupid? The only reason scientists bring up Mars is because it's the fever dream of men in their mid-50s that watched 2001 A Space Odyssey and want to be the space child and see the monolith, and they want to quote "My God, it's full of stars". Even if it means sending a manned mission to their deaths on Mars.

What if we are actually threatened by this asteroid is threatening earth, and NASA is trying to save us :0

Wouldn't the simple addition of a method of tethering them with an array of small but strong cables (for more flexibility but great strength) than to allow for it to be a risky mission which could result in people flying into deep space? -_-

Why not mine the asteroids, perhaps help pay for the trip?  
Why can't the astronauts have a 10 foot cable with a clip on the end to hook to what ever they are climbing on?

I sure hope tax dollars are not going to this silly adventure. So these astronauts don't have jet packs or a simple piece of rope to keep them tied to the ship. Who thinks up these things? Quite sure a kid would do a better job.

Pls no, this is a lot of money to try and bring back rocks that fall down to earth naturally, can we please try and focus our attention on just getting people into space and keeping them there safely. Worry about the science once you can ensure you can get a whole lot of help up there, then worry about getting the rocks.
