Joby announced they’d received a part 135 certificate from the FAA to operate their aircraft commercially.
“The procedures we’ve prepared lay a foundation for our future eVTOL operations,” said Bonny Simi, Joby head of air operations and people. “Over the coming months, we will use our Part 135 certificate to exercise the operations and customer technology platforms that will underpin our multi-modal ridesharing service, while also refining our procedures to ensure seamless journeys for our customers.”
Joby plans to launch eVTOL operations in 2024 and noted they still need type and production certificates for their aircraft.
Boeing’s Starliner Crew Capsule successfully completed an unmanned test to the international space station.
There were issues however with both docking and the thrusters
Reentry and landing were uneventful
The next trip will have astronauts on board!
The FAA claims to have found hundreds of illegal flights conducted by Rhoades Aviation and TransAir.
The FAA says that the company flew with 33 engines that were not airworthy.
This is no surprise after a TransAir 737 ditched into the Pacific shortly after take off from Hawaii. Both pilots were injured but survived.
Sonaca Aircraft has stopped production of their single-engine Sonata 200 due to ongoing impacts of COVID the group said.
“The cessation of Sonaca Aircraft’s production activities is a necessary decision,” said Sonaca CEO Yves Delatte. “The Covid-19 pandemic, which will globally impact the aviation sector until 2025, has strongly affected general aviation, especially activities related to pilot training and education.”
