Massachusetts health care workers not paid for over a month say checks bounced

After the I-Team went to Blupoint Healthcare's Newton offices, workers got their paychecks. Days later, their banks said the checks were no good. WBZ-TV's Cheryl Fiandaca reports.

BS!!! With the prices charged by these facilities, they should have more than enough to cover employee paychecks!!! The facilities should be MADE TO COVER ANY AND ALL EXPENSES related to them being in the negative!

and your empathy for the residents keeps you there much longer than you should because of a very real concern what would happen to them if everyone left - it's akin to leaving your grandparents out in the cold - and they *know* that. it's a very difficult decision. you know their likes/dislikes and particular needs that takes time to learn. its awful to leave but it's ridiculous not to get paid for your labor while they get paid for sitting in an office pushing paper

Once you privatize, be it prisons, nursing homes, etc, profit is #1. Profits come first. On the surface privatization sounds good (to the owners) but this is what happens. The lowest paid don’t get paychecks and the most vulnerable in our society, the residents suffer. CEOs don’t care as long as they’re not affected.

"Help wanted. Pay: $0". Yeah, good luck with that. I feel for the people that would like to keep working but can't afford to. Not many people can take the loss of a paycheck without issue. And even if you can, how long are you going to continue to work without getting paid and no believable promise you ever will be paid? My paycheck bounces and you lose all credibility unless you're handing me cash.

It's against the law and in many states a felony to bounce a payroll check.
