So cool to see "Definitive Review" promoted on just about all the lenses and cameras spotlighted in this video. Dustin is really building a big body of work!

You, sir, are presenting an extremely 'distinct' channel out here. And I chose the word DISTINCT here because I am yet to find a channel like yours. Would love to enlist the elements which I love about your channel, your work and you -

1. Clear, well-defined and precise content. I don't know how you achieve this level of moderation between being factual and being expressive, simultaneously.
2. No misdemeanour. I love how you appreciate what is good and also point out any flaws while never being condescending or indecent. You have a superb way with expressions.
3. Choice of work and words. Glad to always see the kind of things you talk about and the way you talk about them, they speak of perfection and class.
4. Poetry in expression. I've liked your literary works, but more than them I liked the poetry that you have in your conversations and thoughts.
5. Simplicity. Last, but definitely not the least, you embody simplicity, of a kind which I would love to have at that stage in life.

Have been following you since a while now and couldn't stop myself from appreciating you and your work. Please continue with your impeccable work, you inspire many.

Sincere regards!

Thanks for your hard work putting these together, Dustin. I ordered the 70-200 GM ii recently and am glad to know I'm not the only one waiting. Decided I'd sell my Tamron 70-180 and Zeiss 50mm 1.4 which isn't used enough to justify the purchase, don't think I'll regret it! May even end up selling the Sigma 85mm 1.4 if the GM lives up to what folks are saying. It's a cracking 85, though. Wonderful design. Enjoy the day ahead!

Just upgraded my wildlife setup from the a7riii/70-200 mki/1.4tc setup to the a9 mki and the 200-600g. Items on its way, excitement through the roof..
almost went with the a9ii, but the lack of picture profiles and other minor improvements not justify that camera to me and unfortunately it seems there will be no firmware to address PP issue.
anyways, thanks again for your excellent reviews, i've learned a lot and saved a lot through your dedication. You are an island of sanity in our sales pitch driven world.

Dustin, thank you for your review, I have just switched to Sony and am now building up my lens collection and I found myself going back to your video multiple times to plan.
I have been debating whether to get 16-35mm GM vs. 20mm 1.8G and 35mm 1.4GM (maybe 14mm 1.8 GM as well). I primarily enjoy landscape and cityscape photography, however I do a lot of Travel and family/environmental portraits as well. I could not find any video from you covering 16-35 f2.8 GM.
I am inclined towards the primes set as I feel the quality is much better, and 35mm 1.4 GM is the perfect everyday lens. I also felt that for landscape photography, with the A7iv I can afford to crop to cover additional 1-10mm or walk to compose where feasible. However downside is the inconvenience of switching lenses, and heavier kit, considering I have to carry lenses to compensate for the zoom. My other lens would be a 70-200 GM II (I dont generally need 35mm-70mm ranges).
Would like to hear your opinion; what do you think of the 16-35 2.8 GM? And would you take 20mm 1.8G and 35mm 1.4GM (and maybe 14mm 1.8) over the single zoom lens?

Hi Dustin, I'm not even going to look at a Sony A1 because I don't think I need it for the price. I really just want a used Sony A9 and between the A7III and A7RIII, I will be set. That Sigma 14-24mm is simply outstanding. I shot a wedding with it, ( outside of the hotel, the ballroom, bride getting ready, groom) I did some video for the rest of the wedding) and the other shooter used a 24-70 and 70-200mm. I used the Sigma at both 14mm, 16mm, and 24mm for outside overall and 24mm for some of the weddings. I'm considering the 24mm f1.4mm gm and a 35mm f1.4gm, but the Sigma is very impressive for what it is. It's a beast for its price.

Great stuff! I love the 35GM and 100-400GM so much it makes me want to get a few more, but man, you have to save for a long time for each one :) Anyway, another great video. This channel is just too good.

Even though I have the Tamron 35-150 and the 70-200 GM II, I am definitely not parting with my 135 GM. Love the results I get with that lens. 😊 Another GM prime that does not seem to get much love is another one of my favorites - maybe because I like to photograph close-ups of flora, it is the 100 GM.

Very interesting overviews. And fair assessments. Though I have no intention of switching brands (based on needs and current performance), I still think the best part of Sony being in this market is that they finally got Canon and Nikon innovating much more quickly. I doubt that we’d have seen a Z9, R5 or R3 as quickly if Sony had not upped the ante. So buyers of all 3 brands should be much happier.

Always love your reviews. I will say I still think the A7R3 is a great camera and having used it now for a couple years as well as the A7R4 I still prefer the Mark 3 for the cleaner files... yes you can work around the noise on the A7R4 but I really think it was a step back in sensors (everything else is better on the R4). I also own the A1 and honestly for landscapes I still think the output of the A7R3 is slightly better, the ability to raise shadows and not incur degradation is just better it seems on BSI sensors vs stacked. Of course in every other regard the A1 is fantastic and the output is VERY good, just not quite at the level of the A7R3 under high dynamic range situations. I'm really curious where Sony will go with the A7R5 when that comes to fruition, I hope they focus on color, dynamic range and resolution rather than try to make it an "all rounder".
