Biggest Singing Mistake To Avoid

I ended up in the hospital because of this…
I was so focused on my low notes and my powerful belt and I had 0 interest in singing high because I knew it wasn’t my strength.
And because I wanted to show off my strengths and not my weaknesses I only worked on my strengths to make those parts of my voice even better!
While doing this ⬆️ is the secret to seeing success in singing (showing off the strongest part of your voice and not feeling like you have to have able to do everything!), it’s exactly what made me end up in the hospital with a vocal injury.
I completely lost the balance in my voice…
While my voice was super powerful, I was struggling to control it at a lower volume, my flexibility was gone and my range decreased dramatically.
Just like with everything in life - balance is the key.
Balance between breath and muscle…
Balance between chest voice and head voice…
Balance between working on your strengths and your weaknesses…
We need to do it all to truly set the voice free and sing with the least amount of effort as possible.
