I think session is the superior game regardless of mods just because doing all the historical tricks is fun

Keep in mind that Session has an actual stats menu in its core game. Where XL has to rely on mods. This guys' gameplay looks completely different than mine. Changing the stats can also change your style and if you skate with looser trucks it makes the landings look way more steezy.

Session just needs a animator for the W but also raw gameplay and real filming/clips can change the perspective a lot, not to mention personal setups can alter how the games work

I like how tweaking the options on Session basically turns it into a completely different game

Ive always been of the mindset that if you have a PC and willingness to mod then XL is far better. If you are on a console and no ability to mod Session will give you more diversity and gameplay options making it the better un modded console game.

as someone whos put well over 100 hours into both games, I can absolutely say that if we're talking no mods, session easily takes the W. After playing session for a straight week, I found it difficult to return to XL's more clunky response. I always found XL way too springy and a weightless, there didn't really feel like there was any board under me and that always through me off. While Session does have a much steeper learning curve, the feel is ultimately far more satisfying than XL.

Session just needs better animations, but I know it’s been hard for them finding an animator, because they’ve publicly said that. Skater xl on the other side, needs to fix there pop, sound, and communication as there big problems. It’s a headache knowing that skater xl remakes the same map for 3 years straight

If I had to describe Session and Skater XL in one word... I'd assign them this:

SkaterXL: Snappy
Session: Flow

I won't deny that SXL really does the boardslides real nice imo. If they ever get good animations in Session that it'll be GOAT imo

Session for sure. Every trick looks and feels 10x more satisfying. XL is fun but too “floaty”

I have both and session by far for me is better I have it on core so it takes me 3 tries to land something but when you do it feels rewarding, I like the realness of the core gameplay I turned off auto lock everything is on manual mode I just wish you could snap the tail or noise when landing awkwardly and I wish the trucks would also have wear and tear but good game sim in my opinion

ION CONSOLE.. xbox to be exact. I have both games. SESSION looks better feels better and just everything is better in session, It really depends if your talking pc or console cause skater xl is fun but on console you cant adjust any physics and there are very few maps. session has sooo many skate spots and the accuracy is so impressive i live in sf and its unreal how detailed the sf map is.
