Lynn demonstrates how to make a super easy Cheesy Onion Beer Bread that would be great with dinner, especially soups and chili. From Shugary Sweets. Makes 1 loaf.

3 cups all purpose flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
2 green onions, sliced thin
12 ounce beer
1/4 cup butter, melted

Preheat oven to 375°. Grease a standard size loaf pan and set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, cheese and green onions. Using as few strokes as possible, mix in the beer until moistened.

Pour the batter, it will be thick, into the prepared loaf pan. Drizzle melted butter over the top.

Bake in the preheated 375° oven for 50 minutes. Remove and cool 10 minutes before removing from pan.

Hello Lynn:  Watched the video this a.m. and decided to give this a go.  It just came out and is simply outstanding.  I added chopped jalapenos to it made it awesome.  Thanks for sharing.  This one is a keeper for sure.

I love beer bread of any sort. This one looks like an artisan bread, that you would find at a fine bakery. It is a fine bread, as you made this from scratch, and it doesn't seem difficult to make, or very messy. You didn't have to flour your countertop and kneed the bread. That's a bonus. Have a great day, Lynn!m~ Julia

Oh Lynn that looks great! I am for sure trying this. My husband loves jalapeños, I think I'll swap those for the onions. Have a good week.

Looks delicious, Lynn! Too hot in Nashville to make with soup or chili so I think I will have it with a crisp salad. Your recipes are always appreciated.

Lynn, that beer bread looks fantastic. I love homemade bread. I just can't bake well. Lol. I hope to be able to have my wife do this soon. Do you ever make dips for your homemade bread? If so, could you please share? Great video.

That bread looks delicious. Forget the chili I could just eat the whole loaf as my meal.

That looks fantastic!!!   What about storage?  Can I leave it out on the counter, put it in the fridge, how long, or do I need to freeze it?

Hi Lady Lynn. I never make homemade bread because of all the work involved such as using yeast and waiting for it to rise and then kneading it, etc.. But, this bread looks so good and easy. I know because the beer has yeast in it. I know I can try to make this. I would love this with a salad. Question: can you taste the beer in it? Thanks Lynn and stay cool. Oh, your jewelry looks really pretty on you. Take care. :)

I know this will be delicious. Like one of the other commenters, I think I will add a little heat with a finely chopped jalapeño or some cayenne. Thanks for another keeper.
