I've been looking to square my floor rails to shape again as I have a pretty clean street driven NB1 Miata as they are slightly dented in, but, I've been hearing mixed things about if it affects rigidity or its purely for just floor pan NVH. What's your experience with Miatas on track with good floor rails vs squished floor rails? Any floppyness between the two extremes?

just got a 08. I don't race, but I have had a 94 and a 2000. My qustion is about the crank bolt. I once had a timing belt replaced and the bolt loosened up. I could not find the tourk specks. Whn asking the dealer they just said tighten as tight as possable. ??? IDK if the timeing belt on mine has ever been replaced so it is on my todo list. Could you give me a tip as tothe tightening the bold so I don't have that to worry about. Should I used locktight on it too? And any other tips pleae.All Ihave found to read is that for some reason " Not give" that the Batt.will go dead and the top comes apart. Once more no explanation. It is my dayly it has 178 k on it and I want ti tolast me a long time. Also it has a 6 speed and I have niticed it goes into first kinda hard. And tips would be gradafying.
