Sentential Fugue in D Minor with Score (ft. Cinematic Strings)

I've lowered the tempo to make it easier to follow the score. I've also reverted the tuning to standard instead of Baroque.

I'm here from "So You Want to Write a Fugue" because I want to write one, too, and read your comment. I couldn't believe the quality, like that of a pro soundtrack. I am glad I stayed all the way to the end  because that last page really floored me, just inspired. Then, thinking back, it somehow doesn't sound like anything I have heard. So that is your 1st fugue? GG thought that someone's first effort in a fin-de-sicle type era like we are in was something very special. It would reveal something about the present style the composer was familiar with, and point ahead to something new and visionary.

Very interesting and effective neobaroque fugue, with a good Vivaldian vibe and a steady drive as the word "fugue" suggests. As this fugue was written by a professional let me suggest that it lacks a stretto section (the head of the subject seems written on purpose for it) and some occasional rests to give variety of texture and terraced dynamics.
The syncopated variation of the subject in the central section of the fugue is a great piece of intuition, a modern twist that does not ruin the overall effect.

Very good work. Really respectable material. As a side note, I find the [ three 16ths, 16th__16th, 16th, quarter ] rhythm hilarious in a fugal setting! But you make it work.

I love this fugue a lot! Very engaging development of the beautiful subject. Can you tell me what exactly you mean by "sentential" in the title? Does it refer to the makeup of the subject?
