In today's video I show you how to simulate a poor network connection on both your physical device and Xcode Simulator. For the simulator we will need to download the Network Link Conditioner:

Funny thing, I actually have a network that doesn't need any simulation.

Wow this is really nice, thanks Sean, I used to test the network from the setting on my iPhone, go to: settings-> Developer-> Network Link Conditioner, there you can simulate poor or strong connection or what ever you need, their is a lot of options and customizations to play with

Thanks for this but I am looking for an extra step. I want to simulate "No Network Connection" after user has started the app. Scenario will be like:

app.launch() //app launches without any error message
app.buttons['Home'].tap()
At this stage, I wanto cut the nework so exception banner is thrown to the user informing that there is no network

Do we have any solution for this?

It’s okay. I’m still on X. No major features to upgrade yet.

But how to simulate bad network condition in simulator while using stubby? The method in the video doesn't work for this case 😟

Network conditioning is available directly from iphone? Without connecting it to xcode can we condition network?

Is there a way to make it a hotkey/key bind to toggle it on and off? Just want a more convenient way.

There is a way to disconnect the internet connection 100% and only on the simulator?

Can I use this to simulate a 5G/Gigabit connection, if I'm on a poor network connection?
