It's so stupid Disney plus won't release them on DVD, Bluray etc.

And this is why I will never stop collecting physical media

"This is why you should buy physical media..." Yes. Absolutely. Except for the shows that were never released physically. More and more of those being made by these streaming services. I would throw money at a box set of Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, for example, but Hulu never produced such a thing. It just doesn't exist (in any official, legal format, anyway).

So when everyone was laughing because I still like buying boxset dvds or special editions, and were convincing me that all that stuff can be watched on a streaming svc. Yeah, I would like to have a conversation with those people.

Wanna know how Disney can make a little bit of money back? Blu-ray sales. Hard copies. It's a simple numbers game. The more you sell, the more people want of that series.

Hey John, thanks for going back to posting
Individual videos. That’s my preferred method to watch / listen to the show

It’s funny when I say I’m a physical media guy, one of the responses I get is “Pah, they’ll never take any content off streaming services, it’ll be there forever!” I think even John has said that before. And then shit like this happens.

Disney should put out their shows on phsycial media! Especially if their taking stuff down. Mandalorian on 4K UHD disc at the least. Come on Bob!

Netflix has done this every month for YEARS.

Physical Media is King!! This is a good reason why. 👌

Yes this is why physical media is very important. I think they should reconsider on make that disappear.

This residuals system is perfect when companies were doing first show via own channels then licensing them via syndication or to streaming services like Netflix, but the whole thing absolutely falls apart when the content companies start hoarding their shows for their own services.... They expect they will see unlimited growth from a limited pool of people, and when they don't stuff like above happens. People aren't going to subscribe to 156 streaming services, it's best to go back to a system when everything was available on 2/3 streaming services after broadcast was done on the channels

This is why piracy is never going to go away.

This is why I prefer physical copies. All these shows are going to disappear and be impossible to watch. Great shows will disappear because it didn’t make the giant greedy corporation as much money as the soulless cash grab super hero and franchise movies. Won’t be long till they take away movies and shows that you already purchased

The disposability of our society continues. Music, movies, and tv shows can just become throwaway content and the arts become just another commodity.

The argument used to be do I keep getting physical or risk them being removed from streaming and not being able to watch a thing. Now it's a choice between not being able to watch a show when it's taken off streaming or piracy. Way to go

And this is why I am a proponent of physical media.

shouldn't the writers and the actors only get paid if someone watches it? If so, why would it cost them so much money, if they aren't watched?

Little Demon was my favorite show of last year and I was optimistic when it hadn't been cancelled. How are you removing a show that you haven't even cancelled yet? Like what the hell.
