it makes me sad that this album gets so much hate, 80s Comedown Machine is genuinely one of my favorite songs ever

Didn’t realize this wasn’t a popular album. I listen to it all the time. Love partners in crime and slow animals. Not a bad song on there

I’m 20, so I wasn’t around for the strokes when they were this massive force in the early 2000s, and I’ll say that anyone my age or close to it that say they like the strokes, love comedown machine.

‘Chances’ has made me feel more emotional than almost any other song of theirs. If I directed a TV episode involving a high school dance in the winter, I’d immediately use the song in the scene.

I always thought the giant RCA on the cover looked really dope actually.

Comedown machine is my favourite album by the Strokes💫 Mostly because listening to it feels like an authentic, beautiful experience.
Favourite tracks in it are One way trigger, Slow animals and 80's comedown machine💫

I remember listening to them for the first time, Welcome To Japan, what a song. Later some friends recommended me Angles AND I LOVED IT, I thought it was their best album along with Comedown Machine.. Criminally underrated jewels

CRIMINALLY underrated album. Angles was my (own) first introduction to The Strokes, but playing this CD in the car back in 2013 for the first time was an absolute experience. ❤️

I like the album, they almost made me not like it since everyone, even The Strokes themselves hate it, but I can’t help but like it, and it was a purveyor of things to come, since the last album follows the same trajectory, with the 80s riffs, falsettos, and experimental side mixed with the traditional Strokes sound. I think this was their point of departure for their sound now, more so than Angles.

The strokes have never put out a mid album, which I think says a lot about their talent... Even when they don't want to they end up making gold

"Erase the history and preconceived notions of what the Strokes should sound like and the massive impact they made with their debut record and you get one of the most unique and catchy rock albums of the 2010s" EXACTLY

this is a great album, almost all of the songs are punchy, one way trigger was amazing!! (specially on lsd), 50/50 is raw, and welcome to japan is full of catchy riffs

I love this album so much. It’s really really good. I wish the strokes actually liked it cause it’s my favourite one of theirs and I want them to play them live more. God slow animals and chances are so good

Glad to see this album get the love it deserves. I remember feeling like nobody gave a shit about it when it came out, including the band, but I really enjoyed it, and my fondness for it has only grown with time.
