Collect These Material Possessions
1. Grown-up wallet — not jammed packed and not Velcro
2. Passport — start traveling when you are younger
3. Pocketknife — you don’t know how much you’ll use it until you have one
4. Well-tailored navy suit — you’re not growing anymore, and friends are getting married.

6. Watch — it doesn’t matter the cost. Wear one so that people take you seriously because it sends a subliminal message that you’re responsible and reliable.
7. Grown-up winter jacket — the classic navy peacoat it the most classic. It’s warm, stylish, and matches with pretty much anything. You can also go black or camel.
8. Reliable transportation — you don’t have an incredible car … or even a car. You just need the ability to get somewhere without asking for a ride.
9. Decent pair of dress shoes — this does not include boat shoes!
10. Decent pair of denim — that doesn’t hang off of your ass.

Long time fan. This list was alright, but felt like an upsale. At 25 being in the military/going to college late. You see irresponsible things younger men do. This is what I've learned.
1) A roadside kit. If you decide to go on a trip over night or have a beach trip with the lady, this is a life saver versus waiting on triple AAA. Jumper Cables, Tire goo, Tire Jack, Spare bulbs, jumper cables and a tire pump. You're a man. Fix your shit and charlie mike.
2) Good pillows and a good mattress. You spend so much of your life sleeping. Having a good night of rest is paramount. Hopping in bed after a hard day or bringing a women home, you want comfort.
3) A good cutlery set and pans. Cook for yourself. Eating out is lazy and your diet is important. A good set of pans will make cooking a treat and good knives will last years. A dull knife is a dangerous knife.
4) A calendar. Get organized. Even if your life doesn't feel hectic, when you start planning things in life. The simple tacticle process leaves an imprint and the visual process of a to do list will help. You're an adult. Stay organized.
5) Start reading and find yourself positive growth books/enjoyable reading. As technology and life moves forward, we tend to stop this habbit. Turn off the electronics and enjoy the written word. Finding an author that entices you stimulates the brain and offers a focused session of learning and or enjoyment. Social media and TV is a turn off for the brain.
6) Following with reading. Find a modern events podcast. A cultured man is aware of the ever evolving social interactions of our world. Everything our politicians do effects us. Being able to hold a conversation about the geographic and political climate of our country shows that you are interested in society itself. It may seem dry at first, but when you find a commentater that you agree with, you'll find your social direction and determine what you look for in friends and in a life partner.
Feel free to add to the list, as I know I am far from having what I need at 30. What Alpha listed, I had at 20.

The watch thing is surprisingly relatable. I bought a seiko after university for an office job but ended up wearing it everyday because of the way I get treated and felt more confident because of it.
I don’t know what came first: the respect or the confidence but either way I like it.
