I love that this series is less about ghosts and more about the mistakes and horrors that humanity is capable of. It feels much more grounded and it’s disturbing.

I finished the series literally 5 mins ago. Like most of his mini series, this was never about the horror. The horror and the supernatural is always just icing on the cake for the deeply profound and universal concepts that Flanagan explores. With Hill House it was family, Bly Manor was about love and Midnight Mass is such a breathtaking journey through the complexities of life, death and religion- I don’t even have words to articulate how beautiful it was. Idk how anyone could view something like this and not internalise it as an incredibly masterful and transformative piece of media. Truly his masterpiece

What I love is that the are adult conversations that took a deep dive into a number of subjects...some people complained about the length of those conversations but when thoughtful people talk, and compare differing points of view, it is so very interesting. The characters are given space to develop and, if you pay attention, there is foreshadowing in the conversations that become significant later on. It is one of the best horror films because it doesn't limit itself in its ideas. Excellent film.

I loved this series so much! I feel the overzealous religious manipulation went over a lot of peoples heads... to me it was horrifying and super realistic to how cults can find their footing. Twisting already available religions to fit the narrative they want to spread. Absolutely psychological horror.

Show honestly destroyed me...spent the last episode crying. As someone who was raised in the church & struggled with religion & still have questions this show broke me what and excellent show. Me too I finished the entire series in one sitting. Absolutely agree on the Stephen King connection it reminded me of Storm or the Century

the atmosphere created within the first few episodes sets the tone so well that I found myself overwhelmed with fright even before the bloodshed happened. that to me is what horror should be, and Flanagan does it brilliantly! Also Sloyan's character was hands down the most terrifying and masterfully executed performances. it was truly remarkable

I dived into this show knowing nothing about it except that Mike Flanagan made it (that alone is a strong reason). I tried googling it, but found very little if not nothing of significance. And yes, once I started, I couldn't stop. The mystery and horror build slowly and to be honest, it's all worth the wait. Once the "other-worldly" horror is taken over by the demon that is in the human mind, everything goes south and stopping watching, for me, was not an option. Loved this show so much. Thumbs up for all incredible talents involved in the making of this masterpiece.

I’ve just finished E2 but loving it so far. I don’t usually like horror but I’m a big fan of Rahul Kohli so was really interested in this. It’s slow, but I feel the atmosphere was crafted beautifully and so still keeps it interesting. First time seeing your channel but really like your review!
