One thing I did to fix my Mail was just turn on the button that says, ”Use on this phone”.You press on the ICloud button and press, ”ICloud Mail” and turn it on

I have an iPhone 6. Had an issue with the email account on this phone. I deleted the email account on this device Try to add back by reenter the username and password Double checked my username and password to make sure they were correct. Get a message that "Something gone wrong" Have an iPhone 13 for my personal use. The iPhone 6 is strictly my business phone which does not leave the office. It is running os 12, 5.5 and states it is up to date

I have tried everything to get my email account to update this phone with no success

Do not want to purchase a new phone

I went from an iphone 8 with working icloud mail to an iphone 11 and can't get it to work. Should I sign out on my old phone mail account and then try? It will load other emails just not icloud. Thanks in advance.
