That daughterboard is a "Doubler" that provides the ability to handle double-density floppy disks; it holds the original floppy controller plus another one that handles double density. You need a DOS or drivers for it. Good score getting an expansion interface with one of those in it!

Connections were a big problem with the TRS-80. Whenever I had a problem, the solution usually meant cleaning the contacts

I found a repair manual for that board. edit: I dug it out and it's not the same. I the repair manual I have is for the Tandy 1000 256K memory expansion board
