One more in the series of Corey's fly tying video tutorials!
Here, Corey shows us how to tie his Bead Head Mirage Back Scud – a great and simple pattern that works well for trout, panfish, bass... It is an all-around good fly, very versatile, great for Czech nymphing, dead drifting.

What you need:

• Hook: Maruto Scud/Shrimp, Size 14, model c46
• Bead: 3/32nd Brass Bead, Silver
• Rib: Small-Medium Copper Wire
• Shell Case: Medium UTC Mirage Tinsel
• Dubbing Blend: Australian Opossum, Soft Antron Fibres (White, Gray, Brown) & Hemingway’s Frosty Dubbing

Thanks for watching and feel free to post any questions, feedback, comments.

Great and informative video, thanks! May I ask, what type of thread did you use? I am making beadhead scuds in sizes 10 and 8, and the 140 Denier UTC makes the heads too bulky, but I am concerned 70 Denier will be too weak.
