UN Security Council reform: Members call for changes to veto powers

As the UN General Assembly convenes, many members are again calling for changes to the Security Council.
In particular, there are questions about the veto granted to the five permanent members: the UK, the US, Russia, China and France.
Critics say the veto has been used to protect allies, as well as to prevent or stall UN peacekeeping.

I would like to call for the expansion of the Permanent Security Council members to 11. I call for Nigeria, South Africa, Brazil, India, Japan, and Turkiye to be given the newly created seats. I call for the power of veto to be limited in such a way that it requires any 4 members of the permanent council to agree for a veto to come into effect.

To have more members in the council will change nothing if one vote/ veto can overrule the majority. Malaysia made a good suggestion that you need two or three vetos from the permanent members and some from the not.permanent members and that you can´t veto grave crimes like war crimes, crimes against humanity and geno.cide and you can´t veto if your the accused. Although preferably they want the veto power gone too.
