They say I walk just like ya
They say I talk just like ya
And they say these scuffed up boots
Look as good on me as they did on you
And that bored out Ford you had
Is running just as good as it ever has
I think I broke your record for a smallmouth bass
Sunset spinnerbait, second cast
I wonder what you’d think about that

If you walked in, pulled up a chair in the kitchen
Poured a little something for some sipping
And said tell me about all the things that I’ve been missing
We’d be trashing the price of gas and politicians
Put a hurting on an old Gibson
And I could tell you about all the life that I’ve been living
I’d like to think you’d be the proudest guy in town
If I could see you see me now

You could say things turned out good
I met the girl that you said I would
Got a place on a piece of land
With a creek fed pond and a food plot stand
I still use your cast iron skillet
Been making momma’s cornbread in it
And I know your head would be spinning
If you saw this table refinished
I know right where we’d be sitting

If you walked in, pulled up a chair in the kitchen
Poured a little something for some sipping
And said tell me about all the things that I’ve been missing
We’d be trashing the price of gas and politicians
Put a hurting on an old Gibson
And I could tell you about all the life that I’ve been living
I’d like to think you’d be the proudest guy in town
If I could see you see me now

There’d be new old stories and happy tears
Man, I miss ya's and a couple beers

If you walked in, pulled up a chair in the kitchen
Poured a little something for some sipping
And said tell me about all the things that I’ve been missing
We’d be trashing the price of gas and politicians
Put a hurting on an old Gibson
And I could tell you about all the life that I’ve been living
I’d like to think you’d be the proudest guy in town
I’d like to think you’d be the proudest guy in town

No auto tune, no expensive equipment, no background singers, Just raw pure talent.

He could sing a song about standing in line at the DMV and it would be a absolute banger

I just want to be a dad that when my kids listen to music like this, they think of me. That's all I want out of life.

Brother this brought tears to my eyes. This hit home. I was raised by my grandparents. My grandfather was basically my Daddy. He was a firefighter and Im a Deputy Sheriff. I sure hope he is proud.

If and when he does release this, I wouldn't want him to change a thing about this version. No other instruments. Just Luke singing on his own to his dad/granddad. This is such a personal and effective emotional song.

Lost my dad in 1983, he was 47 years old, I tear up every time I hear this song. Hurts so good.

Can we talk about the fact that this man makes so many fucking bangers that he just posts the extras on YouTube.

My father passed away a few weeks ago at the age of 66 after fighting hard for 9-months with Liver cancer. This song pulls on so many heart strings! I love your personality Luke, your music, and passion! Can’t wait to see you for the first time in KY later this month!!

You know that it is a good day when Luke Combs uploads an unrelealsed song at 10:30 at night.
