3d Printer Temperature Tower

In this video I'm going to show you the super simple way to create a temperature tower in Ultimaker Cura 5. The exact same process works in Cura 4.13 too if you are not on Cura 5 yet.

The whole process will take about 5 minutes and will enable you to find the perfect printing temperature for any 3d printer filament you want to print with.

Now very easy, just choose your tower. Slice and export to disk. Add to your printer and all is ready to print. Thanks Ricky. Best instructables on the net. Thanks for your no bullshit. An example for all other tubers. Just starting and you give very usefull information. Best regards. Willem

That temp tower script has a big problem that most of these scripts share. Its using an M104 command to change temperature. 104 doesn't wait for the temp to complete changing before continuing. So each band is cooling as its printing: You don't have a band that is just one temp. In a normal print you want that smooth gradient and not something obvious in your print. That's not the use case in a temp tower. Here you want an M109 which is "change and wait", so that each band of change is truly that one temp. I usually go through with Notepad++ and find/replace all those M104 to M109

I have been watching your videos on this subject since 1 year ago when I wore my sonic pad device. I learned a lot. Your explanation is very clear. Thanks.

I will have to resort back to my basic math skills, which were not one of fav topics in school, but hey anything that will help feed my addiction. Thank you for the great video. Much appreciated.

Thanks, great video and easy for someone new to temp towers and actually all the marketplace and scripts you can get in Cura were new to me too. So yeah this is really helpful, thanks again.

Thank you for again a clear explanation. I had to increase the Cura temp tower by 2, 125% to ensure every temperature "layer" was 42 layers on my Ender 3 V2 with every layer 0.2 mm, thereby using an offset of 4 layers and a distance of 42, the temperature change occured at exactly the same place in the tower for every temperature "layer". I was a bit confused until I found out that in the gcode the first layer is layer #0, while in Cura the first layer is #1.
