A video about going to Disney as a couple would be awesome. I know alot of families watch the channel but I’m going with my girlfriend and trying to make it as romantic a trip as much possible

The whole “you have to be on your app at 7am” thing still drives me bonkers and why people put up with it is beyond me.

We just got back three days ago. My husband had a conference in the bubble and so I went with him and our daughter met us there. My family didn’t have any huge complaints but we all agreed it feels like any other resort and the magic was gone. The parks in early August were not at all crowded. It was definitely not crowded. The ONLY time it felt crowded was on a Wednesday as the sun was setting, Hollywood Studios got crowded. I think the day and night passes were overlapping and it was just too much. The cast was not rude but not overly nice. I decided to get a new magic band while I was there. To get a band color I was looking for I was sent from the Coronado Springs to Magic Kingdom (not there) and to Disney Springs (not there) and finally gave up and got a white one at the hotel. It was strange to me that no one could find if something was in stock. Both places I went had more bands but did not have more variety. I realized looking at mine and my husband’s boxes they were all marked “Sage” on the bottom. He got black and I had white. You can no longer send things back to the resort that you purchase (higher end items) so we didn’t buy them because we didn’t want to carry them around the park. Before going I was instructed to do some things onsite and some on the app (the person helping on the phone was amazing) but when I got to the park, my app and the website were not communicating. I used the same log in on both. On site, when this caused issue I was just told to go to the website or app where they were stored. My husband’s had zero issue and I set up both. I am mid-fifties and daughter is mid-twenties. We both grew up Disney and for both it just didn’t feel like pre-covid. We spent one day at Universal. We weren’t excited the Harry Potter was split between parks but the overall experience was much better. Their attention to detail passed DW. The rides were more exciting and the stores had more variety. And don’t get me started on “virtual queue”. That one pissed us all off. I miss the old Disney. On the plus side, I do love we can do things as a group on the app. We can get reservations or share the park pics. Rant over.

Get up early. Do Virtual Queue, Rope Drop, whatever. Go hard until 11:00 am. Then GO BACK TO THE HOTEL! Have a leisurely lunch. TAKE A NAP! Then go back to the park mid-afternoon and go as late as you want. You avoid the really bad crowds typically around 10:30am to 2:30am. And things often really thin out as you get close to closing. You can often catch a popular ride when everyone is watching the fireworks. Plus there is usually some more time after the fireworks when everyone is making for the exit.

Disney sabotaged themselves by raising their prices so high, a LOT of people simply cannot afford to go. When just 2 nights at a hotel cost more then my mortgage, forget about it. I have been to Disney World 4 times in my life, and it was reasonable enough that we could stay in the main hotels in the park (Grand Floridian, etc.) I always wanted to take my daughter, but the prices got out of control a long time ago. She is now in her mid-twenties, and we will never be able to afford to take her.

I planned everything for my mom and I. I was stressed, but I think I set up a good and memorable itinerary for the two of us. She’s going to love it.

We definitely schedule in rest times into our spreadsheet & joke about it, we call it ‘enforced fun’ & ‘enforced rest’ 😂😂😂

I need vacations to be fun and relaxing. I don't need Disney making it complicated. Then there is the cost, outrageous, which I could overlook if they made my vacation easy and fun, but really, why pay a ton of money to go on a stressful vacation where everything might change at the last minute.

This is off topic but AJ has such a relaxing and satisfying voice to listen to. It's personal but also professional lol if that makes sense. I like listening to these videos sometimes like podcasts whilst I work and pretend I'm going to Disney World haha!

The Disney Springs/Mini Golf day in between parks and the all important 2pm nap has saved many a Disney week

Disney keeps nickel and diming its "guests" while hiking its prices and cutting services, then wonders why park attendance is down.

I just got back a few weeks ago. These videos are the best for the time in between our family trips.

Having recently gone to Disney World with my family last month, my own tip is just... don't worry about getting up early if your family doesn't feel up to it. Going to sleep around midnight to wake up at 8, then take less than an hour getting everyone ready to go take the bus - maybe eat something light to hold you off for a pre-11:00 breakfast in the parks - is still a valid way to go. The heavy-duty rides still have some moments when the wait time goes down, so if you have someone keep watch on the app for when they go below average, you can take it at your pace fine.

Special tip: if Flight of Passage's line is just above 60 minutes, that means the line starts inside and you can just walk through the whole outdoors part of the line.

I love Disney so much but it's so much cheaper to stay at a Premiere Resort at Universal with free express passes! I just really can't justify it any more.

Been going since 1980. I’m done. It hates us. It extorts us. Done.

Seems more like a competition than a vacation.

My husband and I are going to Hollywood Studios in October. We are not buying multi pass. We are not going to do a sit down meal. If we can get an individual lightening lane (or whatever its called now) for ROTR, We pay for that. Just going to walk around, eat at quick serve, and keep our noses out of our phones.

Listen to you. Let me clarify one thing for you folks: A trip to Disney World is not a vacation! It's work. Watch yourself and others around you stuck to your cell phones. Do you want a vacation so you can relax? Relaxation does not happen in Disney World. Trust me as we live nearby and go quite often.

I actually love planning, not just at Disney but at home as well. No really, I do. Ever since I was little, I've always planned a routine for every day of my life, even for the simplest of things, because it's part of my comfort zone. I plan, I draw up a backup plan just in case, and then I do. In the case of Disney, planning to me was one of the most fun parts about both my trips, because I had a routine, I stuck with it and I did not get stressed for even one second. And I was prepared for any circumstances beyond my control. So in short, planning can be fun, as long as you come up with one that's good for you, and remember it only becomes stressful because you make it
