The thing that made me really sad about Camille Claudel's life, is that more than having her lifework stolen by the unfaithful man she loved and put in an asylum by her close ones, is that she almost went mad in the asylum because they wouldn't give her the means to create, and she couldn't survive without it. She was a true, and passionate artist.

I love how you actually told the story her story. There's so many woman, wife's, lovers or muses of famous artists who actually deserve the credit for the man's work and it's sad how it's not talked about enough

Oh wow, Camille was gorgeous and made amazing art. Sad she never got the recognition she deserved.

Rodin is one of my favorite sculpters and was one of the reasons I got into the medium. He was so good at it that Victor Hugo, a man that no statue maker could ever win the blessing of, gave his graces to Rodin, who made an absolute beauty of a statue.
I wanna make a scale model of his gates of hell bad. It's absolutely amazing and is his landmark piece

And holy shit I just learned something so so so hard. I need to read about Claudell. Her pieces seem gorgeous.

YOU SHOULD STUDY ARTEMISIA GENTILESCHI!! I like to think that she is one of the seedlings of feminism plus her work brings out so much feeling. Mostly rage for me but my friends say that sadness is common one for them

Well, we cannot do much, except remember her name and her story, that way her legacy lives on through us. A woman who makes men think, think about a thinking statue

The good ending: he appreciated her work, signing both their names and splitting the money in half, they kept working together until she got married moved to a new home were she Continued making Sculptures until she dead of old age, peaceful in her sleep, and now she's known as the God mother of modern sculpture, (unfortunately we got the bad ending)

Sir, your thumbnail made me think this was about Gorr the God Butcher in the new Thor Movie.

As awful as that is, I’ll admit I was very shocked to learn that the Thinker was sculpted in 1902 and not thousands of years ago.
