1 - 2 WORKING sets.

You always have 2 or so warm-up sets, before the working sets.

Most people who criticize Mike don't realize that he means 1 set to FAILURE...COMPLETE FAILURE where you CAN NOT do one more repetition. 👍

People who saying it doesnt work just have to follow the science. Overtraining is for the roid guys. It erases the need for natural recovery time

3 sets, 10, 8, 6 heavy heavier heaviest to failure. 48 to 72 hrs recovery.

In other words, 2 exercises per muscle; 3 sets per exercise. 2x warm up sets, 1 working set.
I.e. for chest. 10, 8, 6, on bench, 10, 8, 6 cable flys. That’s it

Remember, some of what Mike Mentzer says is awesome, some other things he says have been unequivocally proven false by science. Be careful when listening to 40 year old fitness advice.
