Generations of Women in Purdue Engineering: Jennifer and Katherine Rumsey
Показать описание
“Being able to do #engineering and feel like I’m making a difference in the world is something that really drives me to continue in my education," mechanical engineering student Katherine Rumsey said. "I think that started growing up and seeing my mom."
"Mom" is Jennifer Rumsey, an ME alumna who has shaped Fortune 500 company Cummins Inc. as its chair and CEO and who so enjoyed her #PurdueEngineering experience that both of her daughters followed in her footsteps. Katherine, the youngest, has seen firsthand how #Purdue prepares its students to become impactful engineers.
More on the pair's relationship, how they've supported each other and felt supported as women engineers in West Lafayette, and the long history of Purdue providing leadership, development, engagement and connection for women in engineering in "Generations of Women in Purdue Engineering."
The video series highlights the consistent quality of the Purdue Engineering experience for women, featuring mother-daughter pairs of alumnae and current students.
The university established the first Women in Engineering Program in 1969 and has the longest continuous section of the Society of Women Engineers (1954).
