The DNC Unity Reform Commission has recommended changes for the Democratic Party to institute in order to make primaries more fair, including cuts to the number of superdelegates, changes to caucuses, and greater transparency. However, these changes will have to be approved by a vote from the aggregate DNC in order to be fully adopted. In this segment we'll discuss the proposed changes and the likelihood DNC members will actually approve them.

"Will not engage in tactics that lessen our chances in the general..." If the DCCC is serious about this then all the corporate democrats should step aside. It is THEIR tactics that have lost over 1200 seats of power.

how is it democratic if they still have superdelegates? not interested in their party

Nope. Someone's vote is still worth more than everyone else's. How democratic of them.

I have said this in other places, but I need to say it again.

I attended the WA state legislative district caucus (phase two of delegate apportionment), as a Sanders delegate. This was the event where the party chose people to attend the National Convention as delegates for Clinton and Sanders. It was meant to be a "CAUCUS" where supporters of either campaign come together to discuss the pros and cons of each candidate and make a final vote to see how many delegates each candidate will receive at the National Convention. A portion of those National Convention Delegates are also chosen at the event. This was emphasized while the discussion between camps was SPECIFICALLY AVOIDED.

When I arrived at the venue, Sanders supporters were lined up entering the building from the North, Clinton supporters entered the building from the South. We were checked in and our initial candidate preferences were taken. We were then ushered into SEPARATE auditoriums; Sanders voters in one, Clinton support in another. The Party organizers then kept the entire group in their respective auditoriums for more than 5 hours. During that time there was no debate, no discussion, no weighing odds for each candidate.

Rather than holding that truthful discussion between campaigns, the Party emphasized the nomination process for the National Convention Delegates. Distracting the delegates from the falsity of the process that they were passing off as a "caucus". When that was finished, they spent hours confirming the initial and final counts. No discussion. NONE.

I caucused for Obama in his campaign against Clinton. When we entered that event Clinton support was outnumbering Obama... by the end of the Caucus, Obama was leading handily. The Clinton campaign learned from 2008, and found a way to stifle Clinton's opposition in Caucus discussions... just skip the discussion and Clinton will hold onto her votes.

I am accusing the Democratic Party of taking advantage of the most liberal voters, made apathetic by the concept that WA state (King County) is so terribly liberal and above-board that the Democratic Party would never do something as corrupt as attempt to favor one candidate over another.

By stifling the conversation and discussion NORMALLY ASSOCIATED WITH A CAUCUS, the Democrat Party successfully added to Clinton's primary delegate count. Nationally, this could have swung the primary, and therefore, the election.

We need to appreciate what a Caucus really looks like, and also appreciate that we never had a true Caucus in 2015.

I propose a counter to their "don't critique the incumbent or hurt their chances of winning" memo... Instead of running ads that end with "I'm Paula Jean and I approve this message", have a screen or announcement in place of it that says something to the effect of "we're the American people, and we don't approve of the DCCC trying to stifle the truth." with a picture of the memo included.

Actions speak louder then words. We’ll see if they back their statements up with the actions to match.

Cut the fucking bullshit and rid the party of money mongers. First proposal of Senator Sanders was and still is: get money out of politics.

Mike, the Unity Reform Commission is just making proposals, this has to be voted on by the DNC members.

Yet they can change their "rules" at any time, so why does any of it matter? #DemExit

Based on past performance of the DNC I am extremely skeptical that anything of significance will change. I applaud the efforts of the Unity Reform Commission and can only hope it was not just a big waste of time.

Sorry after the last primary baby steps are not nearly enough. I am forever done with the democratic party. Nothing in the constitution says we have to be members of the democrats or republicans. Sorry I am not voting for anyone that can't prove they have my interests in mind and plan to act on it. I hope we end up with eight parties.

*DNC: See guys? We're on YOUR side. You can trust everything we say & do now.*

*Now trust whoever we select, to win the Democratic nominations.* 👁️

Please continue to remind people living in CLOSED PRIMARIES to register as Democrats even though they might hate it, If they really hate Corporate democrats they should be registered as democrat to vote against those Corporate democrats in favor of actual progressives.
