So, if I'm understanding correctly, all those lovely adjectives & fancy words, in plainer English - he went with others to see what Nyarly was up to & peeved him off, so Nyarly sent them back outside, but outside was not the same outside that they'd come in from.

H.P. Lovecraft's so weird.

What he wrote: an entity of true sadism will scare those with a glimpse of knowledge we can never know, and takes great pleasure in watching us crazed with fear.

What he really means: *I saw one of the shows Tesla put on with his coils, and it was too spooky for me*
