We are fortunate to have both the model S and EQS 580. My wife feels Tesla has a luxury price and very little luxury. At a minimum, it is missing massage seats, ambient lighting, no heads-up display, and Apple CarPlay. EQS is very long, but it’s turning radius is similar to a model 3. While mS is faster and slightly longer range, EQS is quick enough and when driving 65 mph or less, we’ve received 459 mi range in sport mode.

I am surprised that multiple low mileage EQS 450 models are for sale here at $68-75k. That’s a one-year depreciation of up to $37k!!!

I drove one and it felt like a flying carpet. Lethargic, compared to my Model S, but fast enough and super quiet. The range is impressive!

The lack of frunk and the mini storage below the trunk really limit what you can store. On the sunny day of my test drive, I could not see the rear camera due to the sunlight hitting the screen - it is just angled too flat. I didn’t care for the screen graphics with their artificial horizons - to me, that’s like Windows 95 or so.

Overall a good EV for people who don’t want a Tesla and prioritize ride comfort and interior luxury.

When EQS first started coming out, there’s a cover where the hood release normally goes and it has the OBD2 port as well. And then you pull the handle normally. Then randomly they started shipping them without the handles and when we tried to replace them under warranty they’d kick the claim finally releasing an LI that EQ cars will no longer be shipping with a release handle, just the cable. Only car with a Normal hood release is the EQB

4:34 Hear me out, imagine driving/being a bunch of college students from Philadelphia to New York and you want to do homework and study. 3-4 students, with between 2-3 devices like a smartphone, a laptop, maybe a tablet. Or maybe a company business trip. I think this is a really good feature. And it’s an EV so if you need to recharge even you can maybe do some work on the road and use more ports.

I have a 2022 EQS and if you turn off creep, with strong regen it does 1 pedal driving. Also there's a dash display "Assist" that show the visualization just like Teala.

Very comprehensive review, well done.
My neighbor just bought the EQS 450, and he is very pleased with it.
Too many buttons for my taste, the simplicity of my Tesla has spoiled me.

The photo showed rear right charge port?? You said back left? This matters if you want to use a Tesla charger in the future.

I don't get why people complain about the seat buttons having no click feedback, when the feedback is literally under your but. Do we really need 3 feedback loops for a button?

You can open the hood. Under the left dash is a an area where you can take out about 4 screws. Take off the little door and there is a handle. Pull it and the front hood opens.

Fabulous voice-quality from in the car. It's almost like you're in a controlled recording space. I'm curious about any processing used...noise or reverb cancellation? Car review channels should aspire to this superb voice experience!

Ok no review on the audio system, maybe on followup video?

Ryan Melcedes does show you the cars in your blind spot and all the cars moving in front of you. You have to change the display, Melcedes gives you like five different displays. And there is one that is really great to use when the car is setup to drive by itself. You have the wrong screen pal.😊

Front camera, nice 360 view, pano roof screen, and quietness are all things I'd love to have on my Model S.

So my take on all three cars from someone who just recently rented an EQS 450 + this past weekend for our wedding. I had the car for five days. I’ve also rented a model S and a lucid air. The lucid air is was by far the coolest looking on the outside of the three however, the Mercedes had a nicer interior, but the interface is very clumbersome. Apple CarPlay didn’t always load. I had to go deep into the menu to the phone settings to get it to reconnect to Apple CarPlay automatically. That said, if I had to choose the lucid air, Tesla model S or the EQS lineup I would definitely go Mercedes.

Ryan, are you aware the EQS has automatic lane changing in adaptive cruise control? Initiate turn signal and if turn is safe, the vehicle will smoothly move into desired lane. I’m disappointed Tesla model S charges $6, 000 extra for this feature.

I have this eqs 580 max specs. It was about 151, 000 after msrp and it runs like a cloud. Very luxurious and you feel like youre better than everyone else on the road.

You can also open the trunk by swiping underneath with your foot. It's a surprisingly hidden feature.

Just a little info, the EQS has handily beat the Models S in range in every actual road test they've been put to. Only the Lucid has longer range. The 450 has up to 424 miles of range. The 580 400. Tesla has gamed the EPA range test for years by up to 30%. All the German manufacturers have done exactly the opposite, probably, trying to avoid another "dieselgate" scandal.

I absolutely love the addition of the gear guard plush to the set.
