Motocross Action tests the 2023 Honda CRF450R at Glen Helen Raceway. The 2023 isn't all new but does have revisions to the mapping, power, frame, and suspension. We give you the most detailed review the industry has to offer on every new motorcycle that releases. That includes the 2023 Honda CRF450R. Will the changes made bump it up in the pecking order? What are the dyno numbers in comparison to the 2022 model? What do we hate? What do we love? We answer all these questions and more in this video.

I don't care how good it is...I'd buy one just to go out to the garage and look at it. What a beauty of a bike.

It does look sweet! Any new 450 has more than enough power for mere mortals .
Except the other 2% which I happen to be, only problem is I’m in the bottom 2% .

the throwback edition is quite possibly the most beautiful 450 in existence.

I plan on buying this rig on looks alone. Reminds me of the early 80’s color way. I’ll be the one riding this with my son on the trails… I’ll be that guy.

Since when do we refer to dyno hp as "faster" or "slower"? With that logic the most powerful bike will always be the fastest. 👎

Thanks for the honest video. 57 horsepower should be plenty for 90% of the amateur's out there. If you are a top pro, you will be doing some modifications on your new showroom bike, anyway. I didn't hear anything really bad or that can't be fixed easily. Watching you ride, that bike does turn like a champ. It's beautiful and probably bullet proof, as most Honda's are. I look forward to see all the 450's and 250's go head to head in MA's shootouts. BTW, I love the look of the bike.

Funny you say you like the 3 map settings but last year or so I think it was you that said that you didn’t like the Yamaha and doing map adjustment cause it’s a waste of time! Lol funny thing is you go to rest and have plenty of time or pull off and it takes a couple of seconds. Plus the fact you can program 2 of them in it and later out others in it and save all of them on your phone. Huge difference in what you can do with their technology.

At 11:16 he mentions "detonation" feel w the engine in Map3. What is that?

Wow Beautiful bike
Now imagine it with a two stroke 250 or 500

Glen Helen is probably the only place you can ride multiple bikes and tell a difference in HP.

Love the look of the bike! Then again, I have a 87 CR500. That being said, it sounds like Honda has lost its way! I do appreciate an honest analysis though!

Glen Helen has a way of finding out if your setup sucks or not.... Thursday afternoons [especially] can have a couple bumps to test on. Good times!
