Can confirm: I watched this show religiously in high school and college, and it was an enormous influence that led me both to law school and into public service thereafter.

l have no idea how many times l've watched The West Wing since Dicktator De L'Orange slithered down his gaudy escalator. lt was a palette cleanser for the nightmare we were living. Martin Sheen is a national treasure, that show never loses it's lustre!

I hope the DNC recognizes Jimmy Carter and gives him a standing ovation for all his commitment and dedication to democracy, human rights and the preservation of our Constitution. Former President Carter is trying hard to stay alive long enough to vote blue and vote for Kamala and Walz. Carter is Patriotism defined.

In my opinion, "Two Cathedrals" stands out as a particularly exceptional episode. Martin Sheen's performance in this episode was truly remarkable and worthy of recognition.

I'm on my 4th or 5th run through of the West Wing right now. And boy, seeing Martin Sheen tear up got me pretty good in the feels. It's incredible to hear that he had never seen this footage before, as well as hearing that it was John Spencer's last scene filmed.
Thank you Martin, Mary Kate, Stockard Channing, Allison Janney, the rest of the cast, and Aaron Sorkin for such a wonderful and entertaining show! In the darkest moments of the MAGA/Trump years you have been a shining beacon on which I have locked on to guide me to a feeling of hope.

I've always respected Martin Sheen for his courage and morality. He has been willing to be arrested for acts of civil disobedience which makes him more than just talk. He may have played many roles beyond anyone's expectations but his best role is, being Martin Sheen.

Mr. Sheen is not the only one who choked up while watching that. 😢

"Richard Schiff was saying last night" - I love that they're all still pals, that is wonderful.

The West wing is a tonic. When I feel depressed or overwhelmed I go back to the west wing as a safe space for great confort. I don't know how many times I have watched the show, it is wonderful. Thank you to Aaron Sorkin for writing it, Lawrence O'Donnell, and all the cast and crew who brought it to us.

Thank you for this interview. I’m in New Zealand and worked in our Parliament for a time, and just loved serving our tiny nation. This show always reminds me of how special and important that is.

I recently met Rob Lowe in a restaurant in Ireland and the first thing I said was ‘The West Wing changed my life. Thank you’. I was a bit tongue-tied too (Martin:). But Rob was so kind, shook my hand, asked my name and talked about his love of golfing in Ireland. Such a great moment to meet him and a cast-member of the show. Can’t wait to read the book. Much love and gratitude from Ireland 💚🙌☺

I need to share this so it be known. I was driving one night outside of Kamloops and I saw a few cars on the side of the road with flashing lights. I stopped and walked over towards the side of the road and up climbs a person from the side embankment. I reached out my hand and he grabbed it while I helped him onto the road. Even though it was dark, I recognized him right away and said "how you doin Martin? He said a car driving ahead of them went over the embankment and he pulled over, and walked down the embankment to see if they were ok.
Martin was on his way back to the Hotel while he was filming. What an amazing man.

The opening scene of the news room should also be used in her campaign. I am not American but every time I watch Will lecture about the spirit of the US, tears coming down my eyes.

How refreshing to read a comment section so positive & respectful. I've watched The West Wing at least 3-4 times all the way through. Such a well written & acted show! And I can't help thinking about it at Thanksgiving. The Butterball hotline segment was comedic gold.

The West Wing was such an amazing show.
After I watched the finale, I wondered if the physical mobility problems I have were the same. It turned out to be true. This show helped me get a diagnosis for 20 years of bizarre symptoms in my legs and walking problems.

It will forever be in my heart for introducing me to the CNS/neurologic disease called Multiple Sclerosis. Seven years into treatment I began to regain control over all the symptoms and lead a closer-to-normal life again.
